Everyone seems to be crazed with a maddening desire to be organized. Whilst I can concur with the sentiment, even if it sounds far too industrious a task to be tackled by someone as creatively untidy as myself, I am in no mad rush to join in. Still, for those who need inspiration and assistance, there are tools to be had that simplify the act of simplification. One such tool that comes in quite handy, especially when there are cabinets involved, is pull out shelf storage.
Cabinets by their nature are creators of chaos. They might have a single shelf and are often too shallow, too short, too chopped up and simply to small to hold all the stuff we want to cram into them. Then there are the mysterious objects that live at the back of the cabinet. It's dark back there and we don't really feel all that brave about reaching over and through everything else to discover what's hiding back there! That's where a pull out shelf can be a miracle worker!
Once it's installed, pull out shelf storage enables you to simply pull the shelf out and immediately view everything in that part of the cabinet. For small items, you can put two or three pull outs in a single cabinet. In a large cabinet, use one for those over-sized containers and appliances that don't fit anywhere else. The pantry needs them and when you can pull the shelf all of the way out to view the contents, you won't end up buying a third jar of pickles at the store because you didn't see any in the cabinets. That because with pull out shelves you'll finally be able to see everything in the cabinet.
I am actually beginning to think that organizing my cabinets might not be such a bad thing after all. Then I can be creatively uncluttered!
