Whenever Halloween arrives, and luckily this happens every year, there are a few things you need to do. One of these for example is deciding where, how and with who you shall celebrate this years Halloween party. There are some people who just do not like Halloween or at least do not celebrate it. But for the rest of us, it is a time of joy, a time of sharing, a time of practical jokes and a time that gives us a chance to dress up.
Of all the things that remind us of Halloween, beyond the classical pumpkins and similar decoration, the costumes are usually on our minds. When you sit back to remember (and re-enjoy - if there is such a word ) how you celebrated in previous years, one of the thing you are bound to remember are the costumes. Who wore what, and how they looked (and who noticed). You will also remember what you wore and what those people who are close to you put on. Costumes are such an important part of Halloween that it is difficult to imagine one without people dressing up.
Some will go for the spooky look, others will be reborn (at least for the night) as vampires, or ghouls, witches, wizards, movie characters (and in this category there are an enormous amount of options. The fascinating thing is that these characters have also a tremendous variety. For kids, for teens and for adults - in fact couple can go with complementing costumes. You have the really scary types, the dashing handsome and sexy ones. Costumes that flow with you straight out of a historical movie set, or a science fiction one.
And then there are the pirates. Most men will still have a bit of the pirate in them and perhaps this is why there are so many options for pirate. The great thing is that pirate costumes are also for women - generally they will all look extraordinarily attractive. In fact it is difficult to find a pirate costume for a woman that makes her look ugly and scary. Scary perhaps (with a little make-up and a lot of character), but never unattractive.
Anyone who dresses up as a pirate will also be ready to have a lot of fun. Real pirates may have done a lot of questionable things, but all of them were also looking for fun. And this is one of the attractions of pretending to be one. On top of that the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (with the 4th one on the way) have opened up again the adventurous spirit we all have within us. Captain Sparrow has also provided us with great lines and ways of behaving that have gives a great build up for Halloween.
One final observation is that pirate costumes, both for men and women (and this includes the whole range of ages from older people to younger teens, kids and toddlers - picture a three year old dress to kill as a one-eyed pirate...), make you look really good.
