They say these jackets started to make its first appearance during World War 1. It was during that time when "bomber" pilots were the first military to be issued this long leather flying coat. These pilots were with the Flying Corps of Belgium and France. Fighter planes then were not enclosed so they had to use leather to protect those pilots from the cold elements - hence, they had to use leather. And the rest was history.
So whenever you feel the need to "take any girl's breath away", feel free to wear your Ray-ban aviator shades and your black leather bomber jacket! With those as a part of your ensemble, you can be rest assured that you can top anyone's gun, captain.
